Families and Newborns
What kind of photographer are you?
My passion is photography that conveys genuine emotion and connection. I love capturing the unique personalities of children and the warmth and affection in interactions between couples and family members. I don't use props or ask for stiff poses. I aim for more natural moments – I don’t need everyone to be looking at the camera at the same time
Where will my session be held?
I can suggest some great outdoor locations around Melbourne, or you may have somewhere special in mind. Together we can choose the perfect location for your family. Newborn sessions are usually held at your home.
What will we do in our family session?
I aim for my photographic sessions to be like a fun, relaxed family outing. I understand that kids love to run, jump and move! I provide some guidance and direction during your shoot, but posing is minimal. I don’t ask your kids to 'smile' and never ask them to do anything that makes them feel awkward. I want everyone to feel comfortable.
What will my newborn session be like?
Newborn sessions are calm and relaxed. I come to your home and spend a couple of hours capturing your family with your brand-new little person. I can provide some minimal guidance and direction, but I don't use props or 'pose' babies. Your newborn is perfect just the way they are!
How long will my session be?
As a mum myself, I get that young kids have short attention spans, so I aim to keep family sessions under one hour. Newborn sessions generally go at a slower pace and I usually spend two hours with your family, this allows for all the extra little things newborns need.
What should we wear?
Whatever makes you feel fabulous yet comfortable! If you’re stumped for ideas and want additional guidance, I’m happy to provide some tips, based on what has worked for families in the past, before your session.
